Geomeetria

Let ABCA B C be a triangle in which ∠ABC=60∘\angle A B C=60^{\circ}. Let II and OO be the incentre and circumcentre of ABCA B C, respectively. Let MM be the midpoint of the arc BCB C of the circumcircle of ABCA B C, which does not contain the point AA. Determine ∠BAC\angle B A C given that MB=OIM B=O I.

Lahendus

Since ∠ABC=60∘\angle A B C=60^{\circ}, we have ∠AIC=∠AOC=120∘\angle A I C=\angle A O C=120^{\circ}. Let I′,O′I^{\prime}, O^{\prime} be the points symmetric to I,OI, O with respect to ACA C, respectively. Then I′I^{\prime} and O′O^{\prime} lie on the circumcircle of ABCA B C. Since O′I′=OI=MBO^{\prime} I^{\prime}=O I=M B, the angles determined by arcs O′I′O^{\prime} I^{\prime} and MBM B are equal. It follows that ∠MAB=∠I′AO′\angle M A B=\angle I^{\prime} A O^{\prime}.

Now, denoting ∠BAC=α\angle B A C=\alpha, we have

∠I′AO′=∠IAO=∣∠IAC−∠OAC∣=∣α2−30∘∣\angle I^{\prime} A O^{\prime}=\angle I A O=|\angle I A C-\angle O A C|=\left|\frac{\alpha}{2}-30^{\circ}\right|

It follows that α2=∠MAB=∠I′AO′=∣α2−30∘∣\frac{\alpha}{2}=\angle M A B=\angle I^{\prime} A O^{\prime}=\left|\frac{\alpha}{2}-30^{\circ}\right|, i.e. α=30∘\alpha=30^{\circ}.
